We are delighted to present The Power of Music² on Sunday, 1st November in Colet House’s beautiful Top Studio. This will be an inspiring and uplifting day exploring the physical, spiritual and emotional benefits of music in our lives:
5:00-6:00 pm - Pre-formance Talk by Dr Laszlo Nagy, with Dr Mark Ross Clark and Dr Chika Robertson (East Studio)
6:15 pm – Doors open (Top Studio)
6.30 pm – Concert Performance (Top Studio)
7.30 pm – Reception
This special event is sponsored by the Music Mind Spirit Trust (MMST), a charity that enriches people’s lives through promoting the medical, spiritual and well-being benefits of singing music of all styles.
The eminent paediatric neuro-surgeon and tenor Dr Laszlo Nagy, who stands as a symbol of the love of singing alongside a love of the values of medicine, will be featured along with MMST’s Young Artist Musical Ambassadors from the Royal Academy of Music, Junior Academy, Royal College of Music and the British Opera Academy. We welcome Scientific and Medical Network (SMN) President Dr Bernard Carr as our Distinguished Guest.
There will also be the opportunity for audience members to sing a special choir piece in the newly formed Colet Chorus if they wish! Run-through rehearsal opportunities with Dr Mark Ross Clark will be offered on Saturday 24 Oct from 5.15-6 pm following the 4 pm Teatime Concert, and on 1 Nov at 4.30-5 and 6 -6.15 pm on 1st November prior to the concert. Ticket price includes the Pre-formance Talk, Concert, soft drinks and refreshments at the Reception. (Wine will be available for a small donation). All proceeds and donations received will support future performances and scholarships for talented young musicians.
